Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Kigali to Volcanoes National Park

    Begin your adventure in Kigali with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a powerful tribute to Rwanda’s past. Next, enjoy the tour of the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, an inspiring conservation and research center featuring interactive exhibits, the Gorilla Museum, and insights into Fossey’s legacy. Afterward, drive through Rwanda’s stunning highlands to Volcanoes National Park, arriving by late afternoon. Overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge or similar

  2. Day 2: Gorilla Trek or Golden Monkey Tour / Transfer to Bwindi

    After an early breakfast, transfer to Kinigi Park HQ for a briefing. You’ll then begin a life-changing gorilla trek with expert trackers to observe a family of mountain gorillas in the wild. Alternatively, choose to track golden monkeys instead. After your trek, travel across the Rwanda-Uganda border to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, arriving at your lodge by evening. Overnight at Travelers Rest Hotel or similar

  3. Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

    Rise early for another full gorilla trekking experience, this time in Uganda. After a safety and etiquette briefing, trek through dense forest terrain led by park rangers. Once the gorilla group is found, enjoy one magical hour observing their social behavior and presence. Return to the lodge for a late lunch and a peaceful afternoon with forest views.

  4. Day 4: Bwindi to Kigali and Departure

    Enjoy a relaxed morning breakfast overlooking the misty forest. With a bit of luck, you might hear or glimpse wildlife nearby. Then begin your journey back to Kigali via scenic mountain roads. Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at your hotel or at Kigali International Airport for your departure flight.
